Celebrate MayDay 2010: Take One Emergency Preparedness Step CERF joins the Heritage Emergency National Task Force in observing May 1st as MayDay, a national disaster readiness initiative for the cultural community. CERF will use the Studio Protector to encourage artists to take one preparedness step toward covering their A’s (art, assets, archives) on May Day. “One of the reasons May 1st was chosen,” notes Craig Nutt CERF’s director of programs, “is because it precedes the beginning of hurricane season by a month.
